Take a moment to acknowledge God for all that He has done in your heart and life over the last three weeks. Pray that God will guard and guide the leadership of our church to make God-honoring decisions with the resources He has and will give us. Ask God through His Word, His Spirit and the gospel to make us an Unstoppable force as we continue to trust Him.

In the church, unity is never for unity’s sake. The role of unity in the church is so we can move ahead with the mission God has for us. Many churches never succeed in God’s mission because they spend all their time trying to become unified.
Your life is not your own ( 1 Co. 6:19-20). You were created, designed (Ps. 139:13,14) and given purpose (Jer. 1:5, 29:11, Acts 13:36) by a loving Creator who desires for you to experience His fullness of life (Jn. 10:10).
We are the body of Christ. And like a body each one of us has unique gifts, abilities, talents, passions, resources and even circumstances that God will use for the sake of the whole body. It’s “All for one and one for all.” In everything we do we are to think of how it affects the whole. We are to leverage what God has given us for the sake of the whole.
When Jesus describes the unstoppable nature of the church, He uses the phrase “the gates of Hades will not overcome it”. While gates may be an intimidating barrier to all who try to pass through, I’m forced to wrestle with the question, “Can gates overcome anything?” After all, gates are a defensive weapon.
The righteous will live by faith. That is what the ancients were commended for (Heb. 11:2). Living by faith means living by what God says rather than what we see (2 Cor 5:7). It means to do what is right even when it hurts (Ps. 15:4). It means to trust in uncertainty (1 Tm. 6:17) and to obey in the midst of pain (Jn. 14:15, 21, 23). It means to put to death our earthly desires (Rm. 13:14) and choose to follow the One who gave everything for us (Gal. 2:20).
Change is essential to life and yet the church has never been good at change. There are many different reasons for the desire not to change. For some it is memories. Some of us remember a time in our lives that was very impactful to our faith. We remember walking an aisle, praying a prayer, singing a hymn or hearing a message that changed the direction of our lives. It was a great moment for us. Unfortunately the greatest deterrent to future progress is past success.
God has done a miraculous work in you. All of us have wandered away (Is. 53:6). All of us have sinned (Rm. 3:23). All of us were destined for the wrath of a holy God (Eph. 2:3) But from before the world began (Eph. 1:4), God had a plan to rescue us from the punishment, power and eventually the presence of sin (Rev. 21:4).
The very nature of a Christian is that of a servant. That was the nature of Jesus who “did not regard equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied himself and became a servant.” (Phil. 2:5-7). Our goal in life is to become like Christ in our character and priorities (Rm. 8:29). God is behind that work (Phil. 1:6, 2:13) and we are to cooperate with His Spirit as Christ is formed in us (Eph. 1:19, 3:16, Col. 1:29).

We are God’s hope for the world. There is no plan B. We have been commissioned and commanded, equipped and empowered, prepared and prayed for. The whole reason Jesus left us here on earth was to go to those who were far from God and draw them near.
It is hard to believe that anyone could doubt once they saw the resurrected Savior. But they did. Thomas said he wouldn’t believe until he saw the nail marks, touched the skin and put his hand in Jesus’ side – He should have been more careful of what he wished for! (Jn. 20:24)
God gives us great freedom. This freedom comes through His word (Ps. 119:45, Jm. 1:25), His spirit (2 Co. 3:17) His work (Is. 61:1) and His death on the cross (Gal. 5:1). The Bible says that those who are free in Christ, are free indeed! (Jn. 8:36)
